Hip-Hop Silence is Hurting the Culture

Here is an interested piece I ran accross and thought I would share...

Hip-Hop silence is being taken to another level with the death of rap artist Busta Rhymes' bodyguard, Israel Ramirez.
According to the New York Daily News rap artist Busta Rhymes could not even attend the wake for his slain homie. To read more, click: http://www.thuglifearmy.com/news/?id=2331

As a lifelong hip-hop fan, I have watched beef's (lots never mentioned in the beef series) between fortunate artists who live a lifestyle that us fans (who pay for it) can only dream of. This latest event of Bustas bodyguard being killed is another example of a mentality that says- screw you, I'm down for me! Screw your family gaining justice and closure, it's about my rep. I could go on and on and on, but I do not have the time to bother.

Here is the point of my post!

As a cd/dvd store owner I am banning the Busta release in my store. I think if the retailers stuck it out on the line and banned these jerks from their retail space, we would see the 'street code' change real fast! Radio will not place a ban, but retail could crush them on release day or even after if they were pulled from shelves!

As a mom and pop store, I WILL NOT carry his release. And that goes for any rapper who finds himself in the position of witnessing another brotha get killed over some pure BS and then play the 'asshole card' !

I work 7 days a week and still struggle to keep my bills paid and support my 3 kids needs...Here's these millionaires actin like street thugs....Shootin quick fast and in a hurry! This explains why so many people who were not involved in any of the mess always end up shot!

I am from the old school where you would get your ass beat up (of course I was the one beatin cats up) and after words you would patch things up and it's all good...

I bet all these gorilla fools and predicate felons would catch a real ass kicking if they knuckled up!!

Busta is hereby banned from my store! I would ban Tony Yayo to but no one bought his cd anyway!

And to clarify my position, I am not implying that Busta had anything to do with the shooting..It's my understanding he was trying to be a peacemaker..But he has info and needs to step up to the plate...It's this same 'keep your mouth shut' bs that we had w/Big and Pac and Jam Master Jay....

Enough is enough!
BITCHES!

Wow, if this dude had a store here in ATL, I'd shop there! good for you Steve O. Please let everyone know where your store is so they can support a stand up brother like yourself. And Busta needs to stand up and do the right thing by his homeboy and his family.
