I feel what dude was tryna say, even though the Boondocks detracted from the point instead of making it stronger. What's interesting is that I remember walking through Union Square in '02 and seeing three white boys in private school uniforms (blazers, ties, and all) callin' each other "my nigga." I was shocked. I mean, I went to school in Florida and down there "nigga" is used in conversation as a punctuation mark. For real. At the end of every sentence. And that $h!t rubs off after a while. But to hear someone else say it: it felt like hearing someone diss my big sister. Lord knows, she and I don't always get along, but I wish a n***a would talk about her! (pun intended). As an outsider looking in, (since I am BLACK but not AMERICAN), I've always found it interesting that we don't realize that we're the butt of mainstream America's joke. It goes much further than this one word though... But people are stuck on that one thing cuz it's easier to turn their noses up at it than to deal with the realness of the situation.
Anyways, I don't wanna take over AJ's blogspot... So I'll be back with a link to the rest of my thoughts on this.
